Julia was named for the Lyle Lovett song, That’s Right, You’re Not From Texas, and while she was born just outside of Austin, her father was from working lines in Sweden. Julia arrived in 2006 on Ellen’s 3rd birthday and was a wonderful addition to our family. She was 100% retriever ... whose coat was sometimes flat! Her nickname was Jackie Joyner Kersey because she was muscular and fit and a true athlete through and through. Juli loved to do agility, hunt, flush and retrieve and was famous for taking herself for a swim when she got bored. She was the best house dog with a good off button and ever wagging tail, and never counter cruised a day in her life. We were hoping to incorporate her pedigree into our lines but since she did not seem to be able to keep a litter to term, she was spayed. No matter ... we loved our Jules and were quite glad to spend each day with her.
Julia was given her wings after a six week battle with Hemangiosarcoma.
She leaves a huge hole in our home and our hearts.
