They are likely trying to tell you something. We let the dogs out last Monday morning and a huge commotion broke out about 30 minutes later. David went out to check what was going on and to put them away and found Gaga all swollen up and whining in pain. The culprit … a 30 inch rattlesnake! Gaga lost the battle … but won the war! After two days of fantastic care at Bishop Ranch, she is on the mend and as sweet and loving as ever! Please, if you live or hike or vacation in places where there are rattlesnakes, vaccinate your dogs. Lady Gaga is the 5th dog of ours that we have saved from snake bites due to the vaccination. It greatly reduces the risk of death if given treatment within a reasonable amount of time and reduces the hospitalization by more than half, hence the vet bill is much less. We are fortunate that we were home and able to get her to the vet's office in short order. Oh and while I was at the vet, David was home killing the snake! Not the last we will see on our mountain but hopefully the last that will venture into the dog yard to sunbathe!
