Felix

Felix, the cat...

the wonderful, wonderful cat!

what else do you name a black and white kitten?

Felix came to us by way of the dogs.  In October 2009, David and I went to a dog show in Roseville, California to watch Casino and introduce Maestro to his handlers.  We left the dog show after Casino got a Sporting Group IV and were on our way through historic, downtown Roseville when my phone rang.  It was our handler Laurie telling me to hurry back to the fairgrounds.  We made a u-turn and drove back to the show site.  When we pulled into the parking lot, Laurie was standing at the entrance talking to someone with her back to us.  I got out of the car to see what was up and she turned and handed me the tiniest, black & white kitten.  Much to David’s chagrin, he rode home two and half hours on the palm of my hand.  The kids were thrilled to welcome him into the pack and the dachshunds were ecstatic.

Felix has quite an outgoing personality and is very bonded to his people.  Perhaps by virtue of being a rescue, he shows gratitude for his new home and is sweet and engaging with all he meets.  He is playful and loving and adores napping with us.  He fits right in with the Flat-Coats because he loves hunting and water!  He hunts bugs all day and has proven himself to be quite the mouser up at the property.   He is obsessed with water ... loves a bath, will get in the shower with you and is always asking you to turn on a faucet for him., a bit of a “cat-dog”.

Felix makes us smile and laugh every single day and we hope to have him with us for many more years!
