This week was a busy one in our household! We had to go pick up a pup from a previous litter and bring him back home. The owner had some changes in their circumstances and chose not to keep their dog. One part of me has a ton of respect for a person who can admit when they have too much on their plate, and choose to do the right thing for their dog. The other part of me is so sad for this poor boy who was given away by his family. I am grateful I was able to get him back home and he seems to remember us.
I always tell puppy owners that we will take dogs back no matter the circumstance, and this is just one example of how we stand by that statement. We want every home to know that they can call us and we will help do what is necessary to get the dog back. It is not for us to judge a person for not being able to handle a dog along with whatever else is going on in their lives. We know it must be a hard decision to give up one's dog and that many would be too embarrassed or too proud to call their breeder . We appreciate the homes who have the courage to contact us and will try to be of help in any way we can. Our aim is to be of support to our pups and their owners for the life of the dog.
