The babies are now 4 weeks old! They are spending their time between the whelping box and their outside pen where they have shade, toys and artificial turf. They started eating solids this past week as a Mother's Day present to Lola. We started with puppy milk, then added a teaspoon of ground kibble per pup and are now up to a tablespoon per pup mixed with Puppy Bac. Sometimes they all eat together in one bowl but when we have time, we feed each pup in his own bowl to ensure that they each get their fair share. Will be adding more texture over the next few days as teeth are in and the fangs are sharpening! LOL Pups have been dewormed twice and will get a treat of whole milk yogurt to put back the healthy flora. We are practicing standing on the table every few days and enjoying watching them engage with the outside world.
