Our first venture into a new breed ... and perhaps the perfect Juniors dog for Ellen! Qui-qui-qui, as we call him, is a sweet and loving boy. He made quick work of his Championship, finishing on his 18 month birthday with a Best of Breed from the classes! Do not let his sweet demeanor and small size fool you ... Quincy is a tough little badger dog. His favorite thing in the world is chasing after, swimming after and barking at Lola. He has claimed her as his own. Quincy found his true calling when we had puppies in 2011. He turned into the best puppy-minder ever! Always gentle but firm, Uncle Qui was part playmate, part chew toy, part disciplinarian and part protector. He loved his puppies well beyond puppyhood as shown in his long term affection for Schmee.
We lost Quincy quite quickly as his appetite decreased and he lost weight in Spetember and was diagnosed with acute kidney disease when his fasting continued. After a few days in ICU it was determined that he would not improve, we had to let him go.
End of an era … along with him, he took a huge piece of our hearts.
When asked many years ago if he would special, David replied, “Quincy is special enough”, and so he was!
